Training workshops and courses

Our workshops and courses are designed to build corporate governance knowledge, skills, efficiency and accountability. 

Goals for training

Our courses aim to:

  • improve current and future directors’ skills and ability to manage corporations
  • accredit directors with key skills
  • connect directors with other suitable training 
  • improve governance and management in developing sectors, for example, family violence, women's organisations, and highest risk essential service organisations.

We also partner with mainstream organisations to deliver targeted and tailored training.

Training eligibility

Directors and members of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations can access training through ORIC. 

Training format

Most courses bring people from different corporations together. This supports:

  • information sharing
  • networking opportunities
  • problem-solving practice 
  • ideas for Indigenous corporations and communities in a region. 

Some courses or workshops are run with just one corporation or group at a time. You can also talk to us about customised training.

We cover the costs of course delivery and materials. We may also be able to help with travel costs for participants.
