Meetings for directors

Meetings of directors are where decisions about the business of the corporation are made. Directors must hold regular directors’ meetings to ensure that the business of the corporation is on track and looked after.

Directors’ meetings are for:

  • discussing and making decisions about the corporation’s business
  • reviewing performance
  • monitoring the corporation’s financial position
  • setting plans for the future direction of the corporation.

How often should meetings be held?

The CATSI Act says directors should hold regular meetings. We recommend that directors should meet at least every 3 months.

Review your meetings

From time to time it’s a good idea to review how effective your directors’ meetings are. You may consider changing:

  • how long they go for
  • how often they’re held
  • where they are held.

Check if reports from staff need more information or changes so that directors can easily understand them.
