Don't have enough identity documents to apply for director ID?
If you don't have enough identity documents and it's not reasonably possible for you to get them, you'll need to get a referee to fill in a form declaring they know you.
Attach your completed referee form to your paper application form and send them to the ABRS for processing.
Who can be a referee
A referee is someone who knows you. Some examples are:
- community health care provider
- community elder
- teacher
- nurse
- pharmacist
- doctor
- post office worker
- bank worker
- a member of an Indigenous peak body.
Who can't be a referee
Someone who has an actual or perceived personal or financial conflict of interest can't be a referee. Some examples include:
- your immediate family such as mother, father, brother or sister
- someone from your corporation.
