This 2-day face-to-face workshop introduces some of the key aspects of running a corporation. Topics include:

Introduction to corporate governance

This 3-day face-to-face workshop provides an introduction to the key aspects of running a corporation such as:

  • you and your corporation
  • corporate structure
  • principles of good governance
  • roles and responsibilities of directors, members and staff
  • the rule book
  • financial management
  • running effective meetings

Understanding finances for corporations

This one-day face-to-face workshop provides a basic introduction to finances in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations. Topics include:

  • directors responsibilities
  • bookkeepers, accountants and auditors
  • reading and understanding financial statements
  • budgeting
  • solvency and ratios

Building strong stores

This workshop is designed to support corporations that own and operate community stores. It looks at corporate governance for store management committees and directors.

  • running your store
  • corporate structure
  • principles of good governance
  • good business practices
  • roles and responsibilities of directors
  • understanding financial records
