Larrakia special administration extended

The Registrar of Indigenous Corporations, Mr Anthony Beven, announced today that the special administration of the Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation has been extended until 31 March 2017.

The corporation, which is based in Darwin, was placed under special administration on 6 June 2016 after the Registrar received a request for assistance from the directors. On that date the Registrar appointed Mr Gerry Meir as the special administrator of the corporation for six months (until 7 December 2016).

‘This is a complex special administration and the extension is needed to complete the reform of this important corporation,’ Mr Beven said.
