ATLA special administration extended

The Registrar of Indigenous Corporations, Selwyn Button, has today extended the special administration of the Adnyamathanha Traditional Lands Association (Aboriginal Corporation) RNTBC (ATLA) to 30 June 2021.

The corporation was first placed under special administration on 26 March 2020.

‘Complex business relationships, poor record keeping, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic have all been contributing factors in a challenging special administration,’ Mr Button said. ‘The special administrators have overhauled the corporation to bring clarity to the Adnyamathanha people but an extension is required to embed a stronger governance regime.’

The Registrar has appointed Mr Peter McQuoid as the special administrator of the corporation until 30 June 2021.

Mr Button said, ‘Peter is an experienced operator and I am pleased he is available to manage the next phase of the special administration. Bevan Mailman and Brian Bero have done an excellent job and I am grateful for their achievements during the initial phase. I am confident the change of special administrator will not be disruptive for the corporation’.
