Yinhawangka special administration extended

The Registrar of Indigenous Corporations, Selwyn Button, has today extended the special administration of the Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC to 15 November 2019.

The corporation which is based in Paraburdoo in Western Australia, was placed under special administration on 16 May 2019. On that date the Registrar appointed Mr Michael Shanahan and Mr Rob Brauer as the joint special administrators for three months, until 16 August 2019.

‘The special administrators have made significant progress over the past three months. The extension is required to address some emerging issues, ranging from staffing matters to legal issues regarding existing contracts,’ Mr Button said.

The Registrar has appointed Mr Peter McQuoid as the special administrator of the corporation until 15 November 2019.

Mr Button said, ‘Peter is an experienced operator and I am pleased he is available to manage the next phase of the special aministration. Michael and Rob have done an excellent job and I am grateful for their achievements during the initial three months. I am confident the change of special administrator will not be disruptive for the corporation’.
