Ms Veronica Cubillo, the former CEO of the North Australian Aboriginal Family Violence Legal Service Aboriginal Corporation has today appeared in the Northern Territory Supreme Court in Darwin for sentencing.
Ms Cubillo was found guilty by a jury on 23 April of 11 charges brought by the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations, Anthony Beven.
Today the prosecution and Ms Cubillo’s defence counsel made sentencing submissions before Justice Blokland. Ms Cubillo was remanded in custody until 12 May when Justice Blokland will hand down her decision.
The matter was prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
